Surfing the web rather than the seas, winter comes…

I am getting lazy its true. My wifey says it, my sister says it – I am even starting to think it! It was an excellent summer but winter just snuck up on me. For me at the moment the sea has just been way to cold to surf. When I don’t surf the waves of the ocean I struggle with myself because I spend too long watching tv and surfing the world wide web instead.

Its kind of similar, bouncing through websites, like bouncing over waves – I suppose thats why they say it. If I hadn’t found mirror tv I wouldn’t have found ceiling tv’s and if I hadn’t have found out people have lcd’s on their ceilings I wouldnt have tried to talk my wifey into that and spend an hour looking at them with her – perhaps surfing the web is kind of like surfing only more of a social thing for me?

Working on small cars beats boats!!

Since I have been messing with my little drift rc car I have been fixing mini engines. When you have a little pile of metal flying around a car park at 40mph things crash, even more so when its a drift rc car.

Hence I took an Air Nailer to the rc car and started messing with drift rc boats, which is pretty much speed rc boats. my latest boat goes about 50mph flat out and leaves waves bigger than the average duck – its awesome I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It still needs nearly as much fixing but at least when I crash it its into a tree stump rather than a concrete pillar, and all it means is patching up the fibreglass a bit rather than rebuilding the whole frame.

I love rcboats and cars!!!

Messing about in the office and how that correlates with the gti

Those blokes that stand around in the office flicking rubber bands at each other always look to be having fun. Whether their source of mischief is their disregard for health and safety, work ethic or peoples opinions they never seem to faulter on the messing, particularly changing each others microsoft office.

For me this is fine because some of the time I am one of these people – my favourite conversation with them is about cars – what are you driving, what do you want to be driving and what is your missus driving. Typically i find a lot of these answers are the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Now I am not one to stereotype but these guys love the stereotype – I counted 6 in the office out of a possible 20 – thats a pretty high number that no other car (even the german bmw 3 series and audi a4 can claim!)

I put this mostly down to their fun disregard danger sort of nature – plus they are smart underneath it all and see the sensible side of owning a vw over the expensive other two germans.

I wish they would stop messing with office though becaue I have to fix the settings afterwards!

Everybody loves fashion, with both boys and girls trying to keep to the latest trends. Boys however seem to be a bit more reluctant to admit to their desire to keep up with the ever changing fashions, but designer zombie appears to have combated this. It is hard to imagen a clothing store which appeals directly to a certain male target audience, but with its new ticker collection this store successfully achieves this. Specialising in a wide range of male attire, from t shirts and hoodies to shoes and boots, this specific range of clothing is appeals to a wide variety or men. This is not to say that women are excluded all together, with many of the items appearing to be unisex the collection offers attractive clothing for both the sexes. One of the interesting differences between this clothing and other clothing designed for males is the use of the colour green, which is heavily used throughout the collection.

I suppose its probably come up a fair few times in the history of car crique and debate. Which is better in all round terms – the german mid range muscle or the british built style wagon?

So would you pick the latest beamer 6 series convertible over the Jaguar XK8? would you choose the sleek refined stylings of the british or the harsh obnoxiously estute ones of the germans? It could all be taken back to ww2 but we arent that childish here – pubblicita at least

My personal bias is with the british car, not because it is BETTER as mechanically it probably is not. But because its got soul – something the bmw lacks, quite a lot.

Zombie Wear Tshirts kick ASS

My latest crazy phase has been buying tshirts online. There is a fair few places you can get them from, my favourites being bhd, bhr, zombie wear tshirts and gRime – all stores provide good shirts with sweet designs ranging from gangster mentalness to oldschool toffwear – designed for people like me who has no style sense. Delivery is always quick with tshirts too – they are pretty tiny I suppose they fly when in transit.

tesla-motors also have a random collection of sweet designs that have made it to the internationellt market for shirts – I have to say of all the car companies their branded merchandise suits me exceptionally well.

Sigh those where the days when tshirts had ben sherman on if you were lucky, no wacky designs or far out inks, no glow in the dark shirts or luminous phrases emblazened bigger than you can think. Tshirts do rock though!

Waikiki Wheels

Hawaii was and remains one of my favourite holiday resorts – you can’t really beat it for experience, sun and people – the people there are always accommodating, laid back and pleasant. The last time I went to waikiki and did a fair bit of holidayish activities – I had driven to the airport in a mitsubishi FTO – not the most ideal car for luggage – but unavoidable in the situation of car breakdowns :/ . This meant my luggage had to be fairly sparse to fit in the car – so I packed light, planning to pick up some stuff when I got to waikiki – and you know what – I did – all the stuff I needed, from shaving foam to spare swimming shorts – all available – It was an excellent trip away – shame about the airport parking bills though!

Kickass Evo

The Mitsubishi Evolution is a very….loud car – I would liken it too the semi-brash bloke in the pub, fairly loud, backed up with a fair amount of clout and pretty kick ass in the wrong (or right) situations. I never really classed it as that honed of a machine, despite its similarities with the Subaru running deep, from insurance groups to bodywork shape and the saloon rally principle. I always considered it to be a bit of a loud mouth holigan – not the refined hitman that the impreza was. But I drove a newer model of the evo this week and it really suprised me – the owner had played down that boystrous over-exuberance and kept it painted one colour black with no decals, even the cat had been put back on so it didnt sound too raspy. I was actually impressed I have to say – itll never imprez me though!! lol.

Breakdown on the beach

I did tell him that his car wasn’t fit for the sand – but he didn’t listen – theres got to be some cosmic karma coming into play there – he drove his heavy vw golf onto the dry sand and I said it would all end in disaster. Now his car is breaking for spares and he hates the beach. The thing is most people wouldn’t realise that parking on the beach is not part of their insurance policy – so he literally got no money back from wrecking his car!

Manilla Van-illa

Theres some wild coloured vehicles out there, like the surf van in my back garden which is violent green – but more than the modified cars for sale you can see in the local paper or on ebay – theres a whole world of seemingly normal people that like obnoxiously bright coloured cars.

Pink Audi TT’s and Dark Red subaru’s – it seems the world of paint jobs is alive and well – personally its all about the blue ex show cars – thats what I spend most time looking at trying to snipe a good ex-showcar bargain modified motor.

What would you think is the ultimate beach bug/vdub van colour? green? Vanilla?
